Rosie’s journey to healing has only just begun, and it’s going to be a long and delicate process. Right now, she is still extremely withdrawn, fearful, and deeply traumatized. After enduring years of neglect and cruelty, she doesn’t yet know what it means to be safe, to be cared for, or to simply be loved. She flinches at movement, avoids eye contact, and isolates herself in the corner of her space. Her body may be beginning to heal, but her spirit is still carrying the weight of everything she has endured. And honestly—who could blame her?
Trust isn’t something we expect from Rosie right away, and that’s okay. We understand that she needs time—time to realize that hands can offer comfort, not harm; that voices can be soft and kind, not threatening; that people can be patient, gentle, and consistent. We believe that with each passing day, as she receives steady, compassionate care, she’ll slowly begin to let her guard down and rediscover a sense of peace.
Medically, Rosie remains in critical condition and requires constant attention. She is being monitored around the clock and is receiving IV fluids, powerful medications to manage infections and inflammation, and special ointments for her damaged skin. Her body is still fragile, and she won’t be out of danger for quite some time. Every hour counts, and every small improvement we see gives us hope.
We are doing everything we can for her, but we can’t do it alone. Rosie deserves every chance at recovery, no matter how long it takes. If you’re able to support her—whether by donating, sharing her story, or simply sending positive thoughts—it all makes a difference. Her transformation won’t happen overnight, but with your help, it will happen.
We’ll continue to share updates on Rosie’s progress. Thank you for standing with her during this critical time. She’s finally safe—and we promise, we’re not giving up on her.
