Thought It Was Just Bug Bites — Owner Shocked to Learn Dog Had 60 Gunshot Wounds
An Indian woman shared heartbreaking images of her dog, Jackson — an English Mastiff — whose body was covered in painful, crater-like marks. At first, she thought they were just insect bites, but a closer look left her horrified.
When Jackson was taken to the veterinarian, doctors shaved off patches of fur and discovered something far worse: more than 60 pellets from air rifles and BB guns embedded under his skin. Vets managed to remove 20 plastic BB pellets and 7 metal air rifle pellets, but dozens more were lodged deep inside his body.
Police quickly launched an investigation and searched the home of the woman’s neighbor. There, they reportedly uncovered drugs and air rifles, leading to charges of animal cruelty against the suspect.
Despite the cruel attack, Jackson is now recovering well under the care of his devastated but loving owner and dedicated veterinarians.
The shocking case has sparked widespread outrage, with many condemning the extreme act of animal abuse. For many, it is unimaginable that a dog could be shot so many times and still survive.
