This Puppy Was Badly Wounded and Too Scared to Trust—Until One Touch Brought Him Back

From Fear to Family: How One Wounded Puppy Changed Our Lives Forever

Hi, we’re Benz and Wan — and this is our little family. With no kids yet, our beloved Boston Terrier Lonfah (which means “Love you to the max of the sky” in Thai) is like our child. He goes everywhere with us, dresses up for every occasion, and fills our days with laughter, especially thanks to his funny little facial expressions!

Life was happy and peaceful — until one day, everything changed.

A friend of ours posted on Facebook about a badly wounded puppy she had found. The images were heartbreaking — the poor dog was in pain, terrified, and afraid of everyone. But our friend didn’t turn away. Not only did she rescue the dog, she also worked tirelessly to raise funds for her medical treatment.

After two long months, the puppy’s leg began to heal. That’s when my wife and I made a decision:
We would adopt her.

At first, things were incredibly hard. She was so traumatized that she wouldn’t let anyone come near. She barked constantly and was ready to bite if we got too close. It broke our hearts to see how scared she still was.

To help her adjust, we hired one of Thailand’s most respected dog trainers. With hours of gentle training and endless patience, we slowly earned her trust. After just a few days, we could finally put her on a leash—and begin to bond.

After a week, her transformation was astonishing.

She started opening up, allowing us to pet her, play with her, and show her affection. And most importantly, she began to feel safe.

We named her Din (“Earth” in Thai), and she quickly became best friends with our Lonfah. They play nonstop, tease each other, and share everything. It’s heartwarming to see how well they get along — like true siblings.

Today, Lonfah and Din are inseparable. Our home is filled with double the joy, double the love, and double the paw prints. We smile more, laugh more, and love more—because one wounded little soul chose to trust again.

To anyone out there considering rescuing an animal in need: It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.
Sometimes, the ones who are most broken are the ones who will complete you.
