Meet Newt – The Adorably Grumpy-Faced Pup Who’ll Make You Smile and Melt Your Heart
When people first meet Newt, they almost always laugh—then pause in awe.
They laugh because his face looks just like a grumpy old man’s: furrowed brows, a slight scowl, and a stern gaze as if he’s silently judging the world.
But after the giggles comes the inevitable reaction:
“Oh my gosh… he’s so precious!”
A Tiny Injury, A Big Personality
Newt is just a few months old. He should have the round, innocent face of any other playful puppy. But a minor facial injury early in life left a slight pull in his muscles, causing his jaw to rest unevenly—and giving him that signature “grumpy grandpa” look.
Thankfully, the injury doesn’t affect his health. He’s not in pain and can eat, play, and bounce around like any other pup.
He just… looks a little more “done with your nonsense” than the others.
Grumpy Outside, Sweet Inside
Behind that seemingly gruff face is the softest heart.
Newt loves snuggles, follows people around, and is always eager for affection.
As one of his caretakers puts it:
“He looks like he’s unimpressed with breakfast, but the second you sit down, he’s in your lap.”
The Beauty of Being Different
Newt’s unusual expression is what makes him unforgettable. He doesn’t need a “perfect” puppy face to win hearts—just being himself is more than enough.
Currently under the loving care of a rescue organization, Newt is looking for a forever home—one that sees beyond the scrunched-up expression and recognizes the gentle, joyful soul inside.
Because sometimes, it’s the most unexpected little differences that capture our hearts completely.
Welcome to the world, Newt.
We adore you—grumpy little face and all.
