Recently, social media has been shaken by the heartbreaking story of a Samoyed who was cruelly “forgotten” by his owner for two weeks.
During that time, the poor dog was left alone in a garden without food or water. He grew weaker and weaker until, exhausted and starving, he collapsed in a corner. Only then did the owner suddenly remember his existence—and instead of showing care, simply called a neighbor to “take him away,” saying coldly: “If you can save him, keep him. He stinks too much.”
A local animal rescue group shared:
“This poor Samoyed in Ha Giang was neglected by his owner for two weeks. He received no food, no water, and collapsed from exhaustion. Thankfully, a kind person named T. stepped in to provide emergency care and quickly contacted us to arrange his transfer to Hanoi for urgent treatment. His chances of survival are very slim, especially since the local facilities were not equipped to diagnose or treat him properly.”
Photos of the frail, white-furred dog—his coat dirty and matted, his body trembling and too weak to move—have touched countless hearts. When he finally arrived at the veterinary hospital in Hanoi, he was barely conscious. He is now receiving intensive emergency care at 2Vet Animal Hospital in Ha Dong, while rescuers cling to the hope of a miracle.
The story has sparked outrage online. Many people condemned the owner’s callousness and irresponsibility, while expressing prayers for the dog’s recovery and a second chance at life.
One commenter wrote: “I’ve had a cat for two years, and I get worried if it skips just one meal. I can’t understand how some people can neglect and mistreat their pets like this. I hope this dog recovers and finds a loving family that truly cares.”
Another said with heartbreak: “Seeing him collapsed next to an empty bowl—no water, no food, just waiting for death—is unbearable. If you can’t take care of a pet, don’t keep one. Once you do, you must take responsibility. I pray this little one will be saved and finally live the life he deserves.”
