Burned Dog Found in North Charleston — Reward Offered for Information
A black Staffie mix, now named Harvey, is receiving emergency medical care after being found with severe burns in North Charleston on Sunday.
The Charleston Animal Society says Harvey was discovered near Harvey Avenue, close to I-26 and Azalea Avenue. North Charleston Animal Control Officers quickly transported him to the shelter on March 8.
Veterinary staff are doing everything they can to ease his pain and support his healing.
“We are providing this animal treatment to reduce his pain and to help his healing,” said Dr. Leigh Jamison, Associate Director of Veterinary Care at Charleston Animal Society. “His prognosis right now is guarded.”
Harvey is currently receiving pain medication, IV fluids, and daily wound care.
Officials are offering a reward as they search for more information about what happened to Harvey and who may be responsible. Anyone with leads is encouraged to contact local authorities or the Charleston Animal Society.
