Dog Found Injured Between Road Dividers, Authorities Halt Traffic for Rescue Operation in Thailand
On Tuesday, Nov. 3, traffic in Sattahip, Chonburi province briefly came to a stop after a stray dog, struck by a passing vehicle, ran and hid in fear between concrete road dividers.
Authorities quickly responded to an emergency call and found the terrified white dog wedged in the narrow space. To ensure her safety, officers blocked off the rightmost traffic lane while a rescue team carried out the operation.
The young female dog, believed to be between one and two years old, was unable to walk due to serious injuries sustained in the accident. Video footage shared by Thairath showed five rescuers carefully attempting to coax her out using a rope. Although frightened and barking in distress, she was eventually secured and lifted to safety before being transported to a local veterinary hospital.
A witness, Ms. Woraphan, 47, said she had seen the dog roaming along the roadside shortly before the accident occurred. When the collision happened, she immediately called authorities for help. Concerned about the dog’s medical bills, she also reached out to Watchdog Thailand Foundation, which later confirmed that they would cover the treatment expenses.
The rescue drew praise from many locals, who expressed gratitude to both the good Samaritan and the authorities for showing compassion and quick action in saving the dog’s life.
