Sacrificing himself to save dozens of people and his puppies, the heroic dog passes away in tears – The story behind it haunts everyone

The grave with the dog statue and memorial stele in Jiujiang city is proof of the touching story that happened 15 years ago.

Today, in the Xiajiashan cemetery in Jiujiang City (China), there is still a strange grave. The grave has a statue of a dog on top, and below is a memorial stele recording a touching story that happened 15 years ago.

That is the resting place of Tiger Camp – the brave dog who used his life to save dozens of people from danger.

Dog sacrificed his life to save dozens of people and his litter of children

This story happened 15 years ago. It was noon on November 28, 2003, when teacher Liu of the Driving School in Jiujiang City bought a dead dog and told the chef to cook dog meat for dinner to treat everyone.

When the dish was done, the delicious aroma spread, attracting the puppies nearby. Seeing that the puppies seemed to be craving for the meat, everyone immediately gave them a piece of meat.

But at that moment, the mother dog named Trai Ho suddenly rushed in, glaring and growling threateningly at her puppies. Trai Ho’s ferocious appearance was completely different from her usual gentle personality. Her two claws firmly held the piece of meat on the ground, determined not to let her puppies touch it.

A puppy, not understanding what was happening, immediately went to rub its head against its mother. However, Tiger Farm was not at all soft-hearted and pushed it out the door. The other dogs saw their mother angry and immediately ran away.

Tiger Camp continued to bark loudly towards the piece of meat on the ground. But no one paid much attention to this abnormality.

At this moment, Tiger Camp became even more urgent. It barked loudly towards the pot of meat, circling around it as if it wanted to say something.

At that time, the kitchen staff thought that Tiger Farm was hungry so they gave it a few more pieces. Unexpectedly, it only held the piece of meat tightly under its paw, not only did it not want to eat but also continued to bark loudly.

Because of too much work and not understanding what the dog wanted to say, everyone ignored the barking of Tiger Camp, not knowing that it was a warning of danger.

No one realized that the unusually ferocious actions of Tiger Camp were actually a warning. (Illustration photo).

At that time, more and more people came to the restaurant. They gathered around the big pot of dog meat, while Tiger Farm continued to bark loudly. Its barking became louder and louder, more and more miserable.

Seeing that everyone was still ignoring him, Tiger Farm suddenly jumped up from the ground, letting out a few sobs. Hearing his mother’s moans, the four puppies from outside also ran into the kitchen.

Tiger Farm rubbed its wet nose and kissed each of its pups. It stuck out its tongue and licked the dirt off the smallest puppy in the pack, its eyes brimming with tears.

Immediately after, it rushed to the front of the crowd, rubbing its head against their legs. But still no one understood what the dog wanted to imply.

Suddenly, Tiger Camp sat on the ground and cried out miserably. At the last cry, it lowered its head and ate three pieces of meat in one go.

Less than 10 minutes later, Tiger Camp was rolling around on the ground in pain. It kept convulsing and bleeding, and soon died.

It turned out that the dog meat prepared for that day’s meal was contaminated with poison. Tiger Farm tried every way to prevent everyone and their cubs from eating the meat, but because no one understood, the dog had to sacrifice his life to save everyone.

A worthy reward for Tiger Camp

Not thinking that dog meat contained poison, the 30 people in the dining room that day are still scared every time this story is mentioned.

“Before, I often heard stories about dogs saving people in distress. I thought it was just a hoax, but today I witnessed it with my own eyes…

I bought the dog meat myself, if anything happened to anyone, I would not be able to avoid being prosecuted. Luckily, Tiger Farm saved our lives” – Teacher Luu sadly recalled.

After Tiger Farm died, its owners, Mr. and Mrs. Pho Van Khai, buried the brave dog in their backyard.

Knowing the story of the dog sacrificing its life to save more than 30 people at once, the Director of Ha Gia Son Cemetery, Mr. Truong Khang Ninh, went to Mr. Khai’s house and expressed his desire to bring Trai Ho to be buried at the cemetery in Cuu Giang city.

Mr. Truong Khang Ninh emotionally shared:

“Everything in this world will one day pass away, what remains forever is the spirit. Is Tiger Camp’s spirit of self-sacrifice to save lives not enough for all of us to respect?”

Not long after, Mr. Truong spent more than 10,000 yuan to invite people to build tombs, make coffins, and carve statues and stele for Tiger Camp.

On December 10, 2003, Tiger Farm’s grave was officially moved to Jiujiang City Cemetery. On the day the grave was moved, more than a hundred people braved the rain to see the brave dog off to his final resting place.

Remembering that day, Mr. Luu choked up:

“That day, more than a hundred people braved the rain to see off Tiger Camp. Those who were rescued were all in tears. More than ten firecrackers rang out simultaneously, the scene moved everyone who saw it.”

Mr. Truong Ninh Khang personally wrote a stele to record the dog’s contributions:

“Tiger Farm is a female hunting dog over 3 years old, gave birth to 13 puppies. […] The loyal dog Tiger Farm used his death to warn people that there was poison in the meat, saving the lives of more than 30 people. Now buried in Ha Gia Son”.

Half a year after Tiger Camp died, its owner, Mr. Pho Van Khai, also unfortunately passed away. According to Mr. Pho’s will, he wanted to be buried in Ha Gia Son cemetery near Tiger Camp’s grave.

On the tombstone of Mr. Pho Van Khai is also written:

“This is the resting place of a kind old man. One drizzly day, a 5-month-old hunting dog strayed into his house and never left. Three years later, that dog saved more than 30 lives.

Today, he lies in peace here in the gratitude of everyone – the owners of Tiger Camp”.

Not long after, one of the puppies from Tiger Farm became a hunting dog and was adopted by the Xiajiashan cemetery. Every day, the little dog obediently stood guard beside the graves of his master and mother…
