Pregnant Dog Rescued After Two Days Buried Alive Beneath a Sidewalk in Russia
A pregnant dog was miraculously rescued by a kind-hearted man after being buried alive under a sidewalk for two days in Russia.
According to The Dodo, the shocking incident occurred on September 25 in front of a house in Voronezh, Russia. Weeks earlier, residents had reported a sunken section of the pavement, prompting road workers to come and fill the hole.
Two days later, Vadim Rustam and his family heard barking coming from beneath the newly laid bricks. They contacted the city’s housing department for help, but the agency claimed there was nothing they could do.
Determined to save the animal, Rustam took matters into his own hands. Despite the newly finished pavement, he carefully lifted the bricks by hand and dug through the sand below. Eventually, he uncovered the trapped dog and brought her to safety.
Amazingly, the dog was still alive after two days without food or water.
It’s unclear how the dog ended up trapped beneath the sidewalk or whether someone intentionally buried her, but thanks to Rustam’s heroic actions, both the mother and her unborn puppies were saved.
The dog, believed to be lost, has since been transferred to an animal rescue group.
