Neglected and Barely Alive: This Puppy Was So Dehydrated and Malnourished, He Couldn’t Stand for More Than 5 Seconds

When rescuer Danu Colombo received a desperate call about a sick puppy, no one knew if the little soul would make it through the night.

Little Puppy Neglected Severe Dehydrated, Malnourished, Cannot Stand for More than 5 seconds

The pup, later named Trappido, was barely clinging to life. He couldn’t even stand for more than a few seconds. His body was just skin and bones, ravaged by malnutrition, dehydration, and scabies blisters that covered him from head to toe. His eyes were sealed shut from a severe infection, oozing pus, while fleas and parasites tormented every inch of his fragile frame.

It was one of the worst cases anyone had seen.

Trappido was immediately taken in by Myvit Maria Hermita, who began intensive treatment — medication, fluids, careful feeding, and round-the-clock care. His condition was critical. They could do little more than wait, hope, and fight alongside him.

And then… a small miracle.

Despite it all, Trappido began to eat. The diarrhea that had wracked his tiny body slowed, and one of his sunken eyes began to heal. Slowly, cautiously, hope returned.

A week after returning to his foster home, Trappido had already gained weight. His body, once infested with parasites, was responding to medication. The little warrior had begun to fight back.

“Trappido is a very powerful Trappido,” his foster mom said proudly.
“He wants to live.”

By Day 11, Trappido stood up on his own. He was finally strong enough to rise from his bed.

By Day 25, his eyes had almost fully healed, and he received his first vaccination. A new life was within reach.

And then came the moment they’d all been waiting for.

Seven months after he was rescued, Trappido found his forever family. He left behind the pain, the hunger, the fear—and stepped into freedom, love, and a life filled with promise.

His rescue is complete, but his story is just beginning.

Trappido is no longer just a survivor.
He’s an inspiration.
