Lucky Dog in Canada Survives After Being Shot With an Arrow
A dog in Regina, Saskatchewan has made a miraculous recovery after being shot with an arrow that pierced through his body—missing his spine by only a few millimeters.
The dog, now named Arrow, was found outside a home last Sunday with the arrow lodged through his sides. He was rushed to emergency care by animal rescue organization CC RezQs.
“This is the luckiest dog in the world. The arrow went straight through him, just 9 millimeters away from his spine,” the group wrote on Facebook. Veterinarians cleaned the wound, and Arrow is now recovering at an animal shelter, though he will still need surgery to repair bone fragments.
Photos of Arrow at the veterinary clinic quickly gained attention online, sparking outrage at the cruel act and prompting many people to offer financial support for his care.
Police are currently investigating the case. In Canada, strict animal welfare laws impose severe penalties for acts of cruelty against animals.
