Abandoned Mama Dog Found Tied To Railing With Her Puppies In A Box
Late one evening, volunteer rescuer Arturo Flores received a call that jolted him out of bed. Someone had discovered an adult poodle mix tied tightly to a railing in a dark alleyway. Next to her was a cardboard box — inside were two tiny puppies she had been left to protect.
When Flores arrived, the heartbreaking scene unfolded before him. The exhausted mama lay motionless on the ground as her puppies circled her, desperate for comfort.
“She was tied so tightly to a railing that you couldn’t even slip two fingers under the leash around her neck,” wrote rescuer Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29. “She just laid there, covered in fleas, defeated, waiting and waiting for someone who was never coming back.”
Flores gently gathered the little family and rushed them to Camino Pet Hospital, where the veterinary team discovered they were infested with fleas.
“Two little boys and their brave mama,” Hall wrote. “All three of them were crawling with fleas — so many, they were literally jumping off of them.”
The pups and their mom received soothing baths and flea treatments, and within hours their relief was visible. The mama, later named Infinity and Beyond, finally lifted her head with a spark of hope in her eyes.
“Her spirit is slowly shining through,” Hall shared. “Mama looks like a whole new dog.”
Soon after, Infinity and Beyond and her puppies — Axel and Buzz — moved into a foster home, where they began to thrive. The once-defeated mama rediscovered her playful, puppy-like spirit, while her babies grew stronger and healthier every day.
“[She’s] so beautiful, so strong and finally free from the pain of her past,” Hall wrote. “All those long days and nights of lying in an alley protecting her babies are over.”
Now, over a month later, Axel and Buzz are nearly weaned and getting ready for adoption. Infinity and Beyond is enjoying her new life, showered with the love and safety she once only dreamed of.
“From abandoned and forgotten to cherished and safe, this is the power of rescue, the power of second chances,” Hall said. “This little family is proof that love heals.”
