Her heavy panting wasn’t just from exhaustion—it was pure panic. This beautiful girl had been struck by a car, and though her spirit was strong and her eyes still glimmered with courage, that alone wasn’t enough to save her. She needed urgent help, and she needed it fast.
When she finally arrived at our hospital, her fear was overwhelming. She tried to drag herself forward, her body trembling, her breathing rapid. But then something incredible happened: surrounded by the calm presence of other rescue dogs who had also once known pain, she began to relax. Slowly, she stopped fighting against her fear and let us step in to help.
We immediately began treating her for pain and inflammation. The truth was simple—what she needed most was not only medicine, but also time, nourishment, and the reassurance that she was safe at last. Rest, food, rest again, and above all—patience.
We named her Hannah, because there was something gentle and almost breeze-like about her spirit, even in the darkest moment of her suffering.
