Every animal lover and pet owner knows that our furry friends are much more than just pets.
Not only do they make our lives easier by serving as protectors, helpers, or even service animals, they also view us as their best friends and even family members.
So, if we treat them badly, whether it’s rude, neglectful, or just raising our voice, it can affect them deeply and make them sad, anxious, or even aggressive. Unfortunately, a dog named Steven knows a thing or two about this.

Just two weeks ago, Steven was hiding in a small kennel at a dog park where he was so overcrowded that they didn’t have time to deal with him exclusively.
He was completely terrified and had no idea what was happening.
Luckily, the kind people at Galgos del Sol Rescue heard about his story and decided to take him out of the dog park and into their loving organization, which specializes in rescuing and rehabilitating Spanish greyhounds.
After taking him in, the shelter staff decided to share with the world exactly what happens when we mistreat an animal.
The video shows Steven in the corner of his kennel, leaning against the wall, shivering. In the hopes that this would make him feel better, the staff decided to put a stuffed animal next to him.
Unfortunately, it didn’t help much. No matter how hard they tried to make Steven feel loved, he just shook uncontrollably because he was so afraid of people and refused to interact with them.
I am sure that in time this sweet boy will be able to forget his troubled past and find a forever home where he will be truly appreciated for who he is.
