Alice, a stray dog in India whose fur had hardened like “stone,” has made a miraculous recovery after being rescued by an animal welfare team.
Recently, a touching video documenting Alice’s transformation—shared by the non-profit Animal Aid Unlimited—moved thousands of viewers to tears.
She was discovered on an old tuk-tuk, frail and exhausted, with her body covered in thick, crusted scales caused by severe mange. Starving and in pain, Alice could hardly move.
Rescuers immediately gave her a few scraps of bread before bringing her back to their shelter. There, Alice was bathed, treated, and had the hardened skin gently removed. After just four days, the crust began to fall off and new fur started to grow.
Six weeks later, Alice had completely transformed, with a shiny, soft coat and a vibrant spirit that showed just how far she had come.
Animal Aid Unlimited, founded in India in 2002, shared: “Our mission is to rescue and treat the street animals who are sick or injured, and through this work, to inspire the community to protect and care for all living beings.”
Alice’s story is more than a rescue—it is proof of the healing power of compassion.
