Dog Found Injured Near Singapore Expressway After Days of Evading Rescue

Scared Rescue Dog Escapes Onto Singapore Expressway — But Her Story Ends With Hope

Rescuing an animal is never easy — and sometimes, even when you’re trying to help, things can take a terrifying turn. That’s exactly what happened in Singapore when a frightened rescue dog named Tiny slipped out of her collar and bolted toward one of the city’s busiest expressways.

On Sunday, October 10, volunteers from Chained Dog Awareness Singapore (CDAS) were helping Tiny, a recently rescued female dog, get into a car to be taken to safety. But in a sudden moment of panic, she wriggled free from her collar and ran.

A Desperate Search Begins

The team watched in horror as Tiny disappeared in the direction of the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) near Toa Payoh Lorong 1 — one of Singapore’s major highways.

Tiny had always been a nervous, skittish dog after her difficult past, and the noise and confusion only made her more frightened. Before long, she was seen darting across multiple lanes of fast-moving traffic, narrowly avoiding cars as drivers tried to slow down.

Witnesses then reported spotting her near the Kallang River, close to the expressway. Volunteers and rescuers immediately spread out to search, hoping to find her before something terrible happened.

Found After Hours of Fear

After nearly four long hours, CDAS finally received a call from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). Tiny had been found — lying injured on a road divider along the expressway.

She was exhausted, trembling, and hurt, but she was alive.

Tiny was immediately rushed for medical care, where X-rays confirmed she had suffered a fracture. Volunteers stayed by her side as she was treated and stabilized.

A Community That Cares

Following the rescue, CDAS posted an urgent appeal for donations on Facebook to cover Tiny’s medical expenses. In just a few hours, the response was overwhelming — animal lovers across Singapore came together to donate, share her story, and send their well-wishes.

The organization later announced that the fundraising campaign had closed, thanks to the generosity of supporters who made sure Tiny got the care she needed.

A Second Chance at Safety

Though she still faces a period of recovery, Tiny is finally safe — surrounded by people who refuse to give up on her. Her story is a reminder of just how difficult animal rescue can be — but also, how powerful compassion can be when a community comes together.

“Every life matters,” CDAS wrote. “Tiny may have been scared and hurt, but she’s now safe — and that’s all that truly counts.”
