A Stray Dog Attacked and Wounded Took Refuge Under a Car—What Happened Next Will Melt Your Heart

From Street Survivor to Beloved Companion: Meet Niq, the Tiny Warrior

When a group of animals attacked a small Chihuahua in Southern California, the terrified pup, later named Niq, ran for his life—eventually taking shelter behind the tire of a parked car. Injured and frightened, he refused to let anyone near.

Thankfully, nearby neighbors witnessed the attack and quickly called Logan’s Legacy Dog Rescue. Founder Suzette Hall responded immediately.

“He had a pretty bad wound,” Hall shared. “He had to have emergency surgery.”

Niq was rushed to Camino Pet Hospital, where he was operated on right away. The team successfully treated his injuries—but his battle was far from over.

“After surgery, he started acting super sick… Then, he tested positive for parvo,” Hall said.

While still healing from his wounds, Niq had to fight a deadly virus. It was a tough road, but the little warrior didn’t give up—and he wasn’t alone.

A vet technician at the hospital grew deeply attached to Niq. She visited him every day after her shift, sitting with him, comforting him, and falling in love.

Eventually, she offered to take Niq home for the weekend to continue his recovery in a calm, loving space. But by Monday, she made it clear—Niq had already stolen her heart.

“She said, ‘I have to have him. Can I please adopt him?’” Hall recalled.

Now fully healed, Niq is living his dream life—healthy, safe, and surrounded by unconditional love.

“He’s so happy, and he’s so loved,” Hall said. “He has the perfect forever home.”
