10-Week-Old Puppy Brutally Beaten and Left With Permanent Injuries — Police Launch Investigation
In Boulder City, Nevada, a 10-week-old puppy is facing a long road to recovery after being found with severe injuries in a fenced yard on 7th Street. The puppy, now nicknamed “Seven” by staff, was discovered on the morning of August 19 by a resident who had no idea how the injured animal ended up in their yard.
According to Boulder City Animal Control, Seven had clearly been the victim of violent abuse. He was rushed to Boulder City Animal Hospital, where veterinarians performed two emergency surgeries. Sadly, one of Seven’s eyes had to be removed due to extensive damage.
“This little boy didn’t deserve this,” said Ann Inabnitt, supervisor at Boulder City Animal Control. “His condition is serious, and the injuries are consistent with intentional harm.”
Due to the severity of Seven’s injuries, authorities say the person responsible could face felony animal cruelty charges. The Boulder City Police Department has opened an investigation and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the person(s) responsible.
“This level of abuse is shocking to the conscience,” said Detective Sergeant Tiffany Driscoll. “We take all cases of animal cruelty extremely seriously, and we hope someone will come forward with information about Seven’s past or who may have harmed him.”
While Seven remains under medical care, he is receiving round-the-clock attention and support. His recovery will take time, but his caregivers are doing everything they can to ensure he gets a second chance at life.
