Recently, police in San Antonio, Texas issued an arrest warrant for Ignacio Sanchez Alvarez, a suspect accused of throwing acid on the face of a 5-year-old dog named Rosie.
According to initial reports, 45-year-old Ignacio Sanchez Alvarez was arrested last week in the southeastern area of San Antonio after committing this cruel act.
Rosie was found at the end of July with chemical burns covering 100% of her face. She was immediately rushed to a veterinary hospital under the care of the San Antonio Animal Care Services.
Rosie lost both her vision and hearing as a result of the brutal acid attack.
Audra Houghton, a representative from the animal care center, stated that the acid completely destroyed Rosie’s right ear, while her left ear was almost “melted away.” Rosie is also at high risk of permanent blindness if not treated in time. The hospital is now working urgently to plan surgeries that may help her regain her eyesight.
As for Alvarez, he now faces multiple charges, including animal cruelty. He is also expected to receive a hefty fine for his inhumane treatment of an innocent animal.
