The pitiful pitbull rolls into court on wheels to confront the very people who hurt him – a heart-wrenching image that moved many to tears
A pit bull named London, now disabled, was allowed by a Crescent City, California court to enter the courtroom during the trial of his former owners, Zachary Hinton and Sarah Anderson, both 20 years old, who were charged with severe animal cruelty.
London, just one year old, was found with both front legs so badly broken they had to be amputated, along with serious spinal and abdominal injuries. Veterinarians believed he had gone months without treatment.
“His owners claimed he fell from a window,” witnesses said, “but we saw them throw him off a high floor just because he chewed a couch.”
The injuries were so severe that London had to have both front legs amputated and now gets around on a special wheeled cart.
Dr. Sherman, who saved London’s life, will appear in court and present evidence against the abusers.
If convicted of neglect and abuse, Hinton and Anderson could face up to 3 years in prison and a $20,000 fine each.
The sight of London rolling into court, broken but brave, became a powerful symbol of resilience and a cry for justice for voiceless animals everywhere.
