Utter outrage: Innocent lives turned into living test subjects in the name of science.

medical school in Xi’an, China is facing serious allegations of animal abuse after a local animal rescue team released shocking images of a group of dogs found severely injured—many with mouths bound, legs tied, and deep surgical cuts on their chests and abdomens.

Several of the dogs had already died, while others were found barely clinging to life—bleeding, trembling from the cold, and visibly traumatized. The dogs were discovered on the rooftop of a building within the campus of Xi’an Medical University, surrounded by discarded experimental tools and waste.

Muzzled, tied down, and cut open—these dogs were used as living test subjects.

Some 20 other dogs were still alive but in critical condition, shackled to pipes or cowering in corners, awaiting the next round of experiments. These heartbreaking images quickly went viral, sparking nationwide outrage on Chinese social media.

A teacher at the university claimed the dogs were sedated and brought to the rooftop for a “special research project.” A participating student added that they were practicing surgical stitching, which was why the dogs had been bound—allegedly to prevent them from attacking.

In response to the uproar, a university official promised accountability regarding the disposal of the animal remains. The school has since suspended all such experiments.

These innocent dogs, trembling in fear and pain, were found chained, dissected, and discarded—left to suffer in silence.

The photos, captured and shared by the animal rescue team, have ignited fierce criticism of the university and raised urgent questions about animal welfare standards in scientific research in China.
