The Russian news channel RT reported that a heartbreaking video was filmed on June 12 on a construction site on Fatehpur Road in Agra, India. The footage showed a poor dog lying helplessly on the road, its legs and abdomen buried under a thick layer of black asphalt.
According to local media, some eyewitnesses claimed the dog was still alive and crying in pain as it was being buried alive in hot tar. However, others suggested that the dog might have been asleep or even already dead when the tar was poured over it.
The dog’s body was eventually removed from the construction site.
Following the circulation of the shocking video, numerous animal rights activists gathered at the scene and reportedly seized the vehicles used by the construction crew. Some even protested at the local police station, demanding the perpetrators be held accountable for what they called a brutal act of animal cruelty.
On June 14, Agra police arrested four individuals connected to the incident:
-
The site supervisor
-
The steamroller driver
-
Two other construction workers
These individuals were later released on bail, but authorities confirmed they are continuing to investigate the case and may question the construction company’s owner if deemed necessary.
