They Thought It Was Trash — But The Tiny ‘Ball’ In The Alley Was A Mother dog Begging For Help

Abandoned Puppy Found Alone In A Cardboard Box Finally Gets The Help He Deserves

A few weeks ago, a tiny puppy’s world turned upside down when he was dumped in a remote parking lot — his only shelter a damp cardboard box. With no food, no warmth, and no one around for miles, he waited, hoping someone might find him.

“There was nothing else [in the area],” said Alexandra Sava, founder of Sava’s Safe Haven, a Romanian dog rescue. “No villages, no people, no houses. [It was] in the middle of nowhere.”

Luckily, a few passing drivers spotted the small puppy huddled inside the box and shared his photo online. When Sava saw the post, she didn’t hesitate — she jumped into her car and raced to the scene.

When she arrived, the frightened pup was still clinging to the only comfort he knew: his box.

“He felt like in the box, he was safe,” Sava said. “So when he saw me … he ran straight back inside and barked because he was so afraid of people.”

Despite his fear, the puppy soon realized Sava was there to help. She carefully lifted him into her car and drove him straight to the vet. Cold, wet, and covered in fleas and ticks, the puppy — only about 3 months old — finally got the warmth and care he needed.

Sava named him Petrisor, and after a night at the clinic, he joined the other rescue dogs at the shelter. Slowly, Petrisor began to come out of his shell.

“He’s starting day by day to be more friendly,” Sava shared. “He follows the other dogs around. But it’s difficult for him. I think he’s very disappointed in people.”

Even though one human abandoned him, Petrisor now follows his rescuers everywhere — to the food bowls, to the water, always looking for reassurance that he’s safe.

“He always feels like he needs someone to protect him,” Sava said. “Even though he’ll grow to be a big dog, he’s still just a baby who wants to feel loved.”

Once Petrisor is neutered and fully vaccinated, he’ll be ready for adoption — not just in Romania, but anywhere in the world.

“He’s looking for a home anywhere in the world,” Sava said.

After surviving cold nights alone in a soggy box, Petrisor is finally warm, safe, and waiting for the forever family who will never leave him behind again.
