California Firefighters Rescue Dog Trapped Inside a Wall on Mother’s Day
Garden Grove, California — Mother’s Day took an unexpected turn for one family when their 2-year-old dog, Faye, had to be rescued after getting trapped inside the walls of their home for several hours.
According to the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), firefighters were called to the Garden Grove residence after the family discovered Faye had crawled through a small plumbing access door and become stuck beneath the bathtub.
Using thermal imaging technology, firefighters pinpointed her location and began carefully breaking through the wall with a sledgehammer. In a video shared on Facebook, rescuers can be seen gently widening the hole until Faye finally pops out — a little dusty but safe and wagging her tail.
“After crawling into the wall through a small plumbing access door in her Garden Grove home, getting stuck under the bathtub for two hours, and not giving in to her family coaxing her out, this pup was pretty happy to see the firefighters’ friendly faces,” OCFA wrote in their post.
Despite the ordeal, Faye appeared uninjured and overjoyed to reunite with her family. The firefighters joked that this might not be the last time they cross paths with the curious canine.
“According to the family, Faye is probably already planning her next bit of mischief,” OCFA added. “Who knows… maybe we’ll see her again soon!”
