Shocking Neglect: Emaciated Cats Found Drenched in Yellow Paint and Abandoned

Two Kittens Found Covered In Yellow Paint In A Box On The Street

In Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China, a 27-year-old woman named Yue You Meng was walking home when she heard faint meowing coming from a box left by the roadside.

Curious and concerned, she approached the box and was shocked to find two tiny kittens huddled together, their bodies completely covered in sticky yellow paint.

“I realized the cries were coming from the box by the roadside. When I opened it, I saw two poor kittens covered in yellow paint. They couldn’t even open their eyes because the paint had glued them shut,” Meng recalled. “They looked so pitiful that I decided to take them home, wash them, and try to remove the paint.”

However, her attempts weren’t enough to free the kittens from the thick coating. She then brought them to a local animal center, where veterinarians worked for hours carefully removing the hardened paint. Much of the kittens’ fur had to be cut off in the process.

“The kittens are much better now and can walk again, though they still can’t see clearly,” Meng said. “Because their fur was cut so much, they look really pitiful. But at least they are playing happily with the other cats now.”

It remains unclear whether the kittens accidentally fell into a container of paint or if someone deliberately covered them before abandoning them.

For now, thanks to the care of rescuers and veterinarians, the two kittens are safe, recovering, and slowly regaining their strength.
