MSPCA and Granby Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify Owner of Injured Dog
GRANBY, Mass. — The MSPCA Law Enforcement Division and Granby Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the owner of a young dog found injured, underweight, and abandoned earlier this April.
The female dog, believed to be about 2 years old, is a medium-sized mixed breed. She was discovered tied to a pole on Porter Street on the night of April 4, according to an MSPCA-Angell news release.
Granby Animal Control responded to the scene and rescued the dog, who was visibly injured and malnourished. On April 10, she was transferred to the MSPCA’s Boston Adoption Center, where she is now recovering.
“It was clear when the dog came to us that she needed help,” said Mike Keiley, MSPCA-Angell’s Director of Adoption Centers and Programs. “She was underweight and hurt, but while in our care she is improving daily.”
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the dog’s owner or circumstances leading to her abandonment to come forward.
