Surveillance Captures Heartbreaking Moment Dog Is Injured and Abandoned — Police Hunt for Driver

A sweet English Bulldog is now safe and on the road to recovery after enduring heartbreaking neglect and abandonment.

Early Wednesday morning, around 8:15 a.m., DeSoto police officers responded to reports of a dog found in an alleyway in Dallas County, Texas. What they discovered was devastating: a female Bulldog, white with tan markings, left behind in what authorities described as “notably poor condition.”

The poor dog was severely emaciated, covered in urine and feces, and suffering from a serious eye injury. Veterinarians later confirmed she had a painful ulcerated abscess in her right eye, which will require surgical removal, along with a significant infection that needed urgent treatment.

Surveillance footage reviewed by investigators shows the heartbreaking moment her owner pulled up in a silver Chrysler 300 with black rims and a “prominent dent” on the passenger-side door. At approximately 6:44 a.m., the suspect is seen dumping the dog in the alley before driving away. The helpless Bulldog, confused and limping, barked in anguish as the car sped off.

Thanks to the quick response of animal control officers, the dog was taken to a local shelter where she is receiving veterinary care, comfort, and love for the first time in a long while. While her journey to healing will be long — including surgery to remove her damaged eye — rescuers say they are optimistic about her recovery.

Police are now seeking the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for this cruel act. Anyone with information about the silver Chrysler 300 or its owner is urged to come forward.
