Meghan Lynch, a staff member at a nonprofit organization in New Jersey called the Associated Humane Societies (AHS), spotted a cardboard box outside one of their facilities one morning.
The poor dog was abandoned in a cardboard box in a heartbreaking condition.
It was a very hot day, so she immediately thought something wasn’t right about the box. When she looked closer, she saw a dog inside that wasn’t moving at all. At first, she assumed the dog had been discarded after passing away.
To her surprise, when she brought the dog inside the facility, the dog started breathing. She was still alive. Next to the dog was a note saying she had been found during a cleanup and dropped off there because the finder didn’t know what else to do.
Thankfully, the dog was quickly taken into the air-conditioned facility to cool down. They named her Halle. She is now slowly recovering and beginning to stabilize.
